Outersloth, the recently-revealed publishing arm of developer Innersloth, the studio behind indie mega-hit Among Us, has partnered with Slay the Spire developer Casey Yano and a mysterious "indie friend" to right at least some industry wrongs. In an era of cancellations and closures, Outersloth has reportedly signed 13 projects, sharing Innersloth's success by funding new games, and has "planned for years ahead, and our budget is looking good!"
Relayed by GamesIndustry.biz, Yano and this undeniably alluring other developer will review pitches for the fund. In a blog post, communications director Victoria Tran wrote: "Casey and [MYSTERY FRIEND] get to choose how much or little they want to fund. While we can't say it increases Outersloth's available pool of funds by [x] amount, we can guarantee they are indeed regularly throwing down some cold hard cash to get some cool games made."
Are you as intrigued as we are by the prospect of a mysterious, moneyed benefactor taking a hand in the Outerrsloth selection process alongside Yano? Who is [MYSTERY FRIEND]? In the comments section below, let us know who you think the secretive entrepreneur is.

As long as it’s not Tencent, Embracer, or Phil Spencer…
@somnambulance or Amazon or Google for that matter.
Super cool, would much prefer this form of communitarian approach, but it’s also very on us to show support for good games we like or want to play.
@somnambulance @PSme If it means more great games get made I ain't that picky where the money comes from. Not going to gatekeep like that.
@somnambulance I don't think it will be purely because they say "indie friend". That could be just them skirting the issue but it seems a weird way to frame it if it's a bigger company. I'm not sure if Blumhouse are indie but if so I could see it being them
@themightyant I have to disagree to big means to much meddling. And as Shown even successful game is not good enough.
